Joffrey Baratheon was the eldest son of Cersei Lannister and, publicly, King Robert Baratheon in HBO's Game of Thrones. He ascended to the Iron Throne after Robert's death, though his true parentage was a closely guarded secret: he was, in fact, the product of an incestuous relationship between Cersei and her twin brother, Jaime Lannister.
Joffrey's reign was characterized by cruelty, impulsiveness, and a general lack of understanding of political strategy. He relished displays of power and often engaged in sadistic acts, earning him widespread animosity. His decisions frequently destabilized the realm and fueled the War of the Five Kings.
